Action, exploration, and combat are all included in this adventure game, but the main focus is puzzles.
A young boy is selected each year to vanquish the Mountain King. However, it’s your brother this time. Things don’t go as planned after the Village Elders lead him to the Dead King’s Gate and allow him to enter alone as instructed.
You must battle numerous foes, avoid traps, and solve puzzles in order to get to the Dead King’s crypt and save your brother from sacrifice.
There are numerous enemies to defeat, doors to smash or unlock, floor panels to activate, levers to pull, scrolls to decipher, and fireballs to avoid.
However, many other creatures (from Ogres and Dark Elves to Minotaurs and Dragons) will require more than just physical force to defeat, whereas Zombies and Dread Scarabs are simple prey.
This game basically takes the idea of grid-based, first-person, real-time dungeon crawlers and changes the viewpoint to a top-down one. A seemingly straightforward modification creates an entirely new experience that is intended to appeal to both casual and retro gamers.
