Following a request from the widow of a rich baron, the story opens with the illustrious archaeologist and renowned English gentleman, Professor Layton, driving to the secluded village of St Mystere with his apprentice, Luke. Someone in the community is said to have hidden the Golden Apple, the family treasure, according to the baron’s will. Whoever discovers it will get the entire Reinhold Estate. In order to find the priceless artifact, the Professor and Luke will have to scour the town for any signs.
